Ducharme takes second in Gatineau Mayoral race

Yves Ducharme finished second in the recent Gatineau mayoral byelection, garnering just over 31% of the vote. In his concession speech, Ducharme expressed his gratitude to his supporters and campaign team, highlighting their dedication and effort throughout the campaign. He acknowledged the challenges and the high competition from numerous independent candidates, which made the race particularly tough. Ducharme stressed the importance of democratic participation and reiterated his commitment to the community, despite not securing the mayoral seat. He thanked his family, volunteers, and all those who supported his vision for a better Gatineau, underscoring the collaborative effort required in any political endeavour.
