Downtown Hull’s Bloome Apartments inaugurated with official ribbon-cutting event

Bloome Apartments, created by development company Kevlar Group, located at the intersection of boulevards Saint-Joseph and Montclair was officially inaugurated. 

The 380-unit apartment building includes studios, one-bedroom, two-bedroom, and three-bedroom units. The building also has many common spaces for tenants and an interior courtyard, where the inauguration was held. 

The event brought together investors, tenants, the Kevlar Group and the municipal representatives. Tenants ranged from young professionals and families to retirees. 

“We are happy to offer citizens of the sector an innovative project, entirely designed to meet their needs, and close to everything,” said Kevlar Group founder and President René Bellerive. “Bloome is also a key player in the revitalization of the Wrightville district, which is in full evolution. The city of Gatineau has done an incredible job of revitalization in the sector in recent years, and we are very happy that Bloome is part of this revitalization and responds to a growing demand for rental apartments of this quality in this sector of the city of Gatineau.” 

The sector has been redeveloped over the past few years to revitalize the downtown area and attract more people to it. The Bloome apartments were part of this revitalization in the form of housing, steps away from the downtown core and close to services, entertainment, and shopping for tenants. 

“My husband and I moved here from the country,” said one tenant at the event. “At our age, we wanted to downsize and be closer to the city and I cannot believe how close everything is.” 

Steve Moran, Hull-Wright councillor, addressed attendees on behalf of Gatineau Mayor Maude-Marquis Bissonnette. “Yes, the city has done work to make it really beautiful on the ground, but it is the residents, the new and the old, who will build the community that we deserve and that we want,” said the councillor.
